The Glacier RePhoto Project
This project summarizes the existing glacier repeat photographic record throughout the American West. The objectives are to organize historical repeat photographs, their locations, and photographic attributes into a database and acquire new repeat photographs. In collaboration with the Glaciers of the American West project, this project assists in quantifying the rate and magnitude of glacier change and communicates the changes to scientists and to the public.
Glacier Change in the Sierra Nevada, California
Website Thesis (2008) Publication (2011)
How have glaciers in Sierra Nevada, California changed over the past century? I began researching this question in 2003. I have continued to map glacier change and visit selected sites to capture repeat photographs (2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2013). My thesis and publication were titled Quantifying Twentieth Century Glacier Change in the Sierra Nevada, California.
